Ye of Little Faith

Did I not give you life?
Can I not take it away?
Do I not give you purpose?
So why do you stray away?
You put your trust in everything else before you put your trust in me.
You put that bottle to your lips, Trusting its contents, like its not poisoning your body and blinding your eyes to see.
As if the liquor can guide you down a path a victory.
As if the sensation it gives you fills you with more joy than me;
But rather, it puts you in position to make poor decisions.
It puts you in a place where you release unhealthy emotions.
It makes you dwell on the things that are not even true.
You rather trust that bottle more,
As if I don’t love you!
And as if you don’t love yourself.
You trust your heart in the hands of your partner before you know if he/she even knows me.
As if I would send you somebody who was a stranger to me.
As if they have the capability of breaking your bondage and setting you free;
You’d rather place them in your heart and leave no room for me.
You push me to the side, but still want me to bless your seed.
You follow their guidance, but don’t want to follow MY lead.
Your empty inside and look to them to fill your cup,
I guess my love for you isn’t enough to fill you up.
You spend all you money on fancy things because you trust materials to make you feel blessed.
As if I feel you deserve any less.
As if I haven’t already given you the world!
But rather, you act like a child who is fatherless.
I try to provide for you, but you go against the grain.
You block your blessings due to your own understanding as if you alone can prevent your own pain.
You act as if I don’t want you to revel in the fruits of your tree,
But you just can’t accept that the tree I have for you is a better tree,
Baring better fruit,
You just dont trust me!
Did I not give you life?
Can I not take it away?
Do I not give you purpose?
So why do you stray away?
You put your trust in everything else before you put your trust in me.
Ye of little faith,
Oh, but where would you be without me?
